Billing Specialist

Accounting firm in the San Fernando Valley is seeking a Billing Administrator who will be responsible for overseeing all billing and collections activities for the firm. Ideal candidate will have prior administrative experience in either an accounting or law firm environment performing billing and collections duties. 

Responsibilities 
  • Preparing monthly invoices for all clients at the direction of the principal accountant
  • Collection efforts, including telephone calls, emails and monthly statements
  • Preparing and reviewing accompanying reports for billing and collections with the management team
  • Preparing detailed billing statements for review by the clients, when requested
  • Various other administrative duties: filing, reporting, emailing etc
Qualifications
  • Must be detail oriented; you will be preparing detailed invoices read by clients and staff alike, so strong writing and grammar skills are also a prerequisite
  • Must be proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Organizational skills must be on point - there will be a lot of information to keep track of
  • Good interpersonal skills, such as outstanding communication; must be comfortable answering client questions over the phone or through email;
  • Must be able to convey invoice details to clients that have questions about their bills
  • Must be able to talk to clients about past-due accounts
  • You need to be a self-starter; this position requires you to self-manage a large workload of repeatable tasks (preparing invoices and reports), interspersed with questions from clients and staff about billing, work in progress, collections and other related issues
