Legal Assistant for Estate Planning Law Firm

We are a well-established estate planning and West Los Angeles, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary to join our team.
Job Description:
As a Legal Assistant at our firm, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice by handling various legal administrative tasks. Your primary responsibilities will include word processing, document management, and maintaining internal forms. You will be responsible for creating legal documents such as trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies, as well as managing correspondence and deadlines. Additionally, you will assist in preparing probate and trust administration accountings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage word processing for the firm, including correspondence, trust drafting, wills, health care proxies, powers of attorneys, deeds, petitions, and other legal documents.
  • Handle dictation and outgoing correspondence, including firm form letters.
  • Create, modify, and maintain internal forms.
  • Draft probate petitions, creditor notices, and required filing forms.
  • Prepare legal documents such as deeds, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.
  • Maintain accurate records in the firm's database, including general information and meeting notes.
  • Enter attorney and paralegal time into billing and time tracking software.
  • Assist in preparing probate and trust administration accountings under the guidance of the Attorney.
  • Ensure all work is accurately calendared, meeting deadlines, and ready for signings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience at trusts and estate law office
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience in estate planning or probate
