Document Review Specialist

This Lender is seeking a highly motivated and energetic person. This is a fast-paced position assisting the legal department timely review, verify and process legal and corporate documents. The individual in this role will be expected to exercise sound judgement, proactively identify and resolve issues in a host of dynamic scenarios and work effectively with others.

  • Review corporate records (e.g. Operating Agreement, Bylaws, Board Resolutions and Consents, etcetera) to validate signing authority and capacity of parties to enter into certain transactions
  • Analyze Power of Attorney, Trust, Leaseholds, and other related documents to validate agency relationship, signing capacity and compliance with other requirements
  • Research secretary of state websites for corporate status, and national and international standards on power of attorney requirements
  • Prepare analysis of legal and corporate records
  • Effectively communicate with underwriters, transaction managers, funding department and other key personnel involved in mortgage loan origination
  • Organize and maintain files and reports
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

  • Ability to identify pertinent information and create documents that present the relevant information clearly and succinctly
Credentials and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work with MS Office suite, Acrobat, and Westlaw products
  • Prior legal entity, power of attorney and / or trust experience or knowledge a plus
  • Mortgage Loan Origination experience preferred but not required
