CAD Drafter

Overview: Our client is a full line manufacturer and distributor of high quality kitchen faucets and accessories. They are looking to expand its talented team of engineering professionals in the capacity of CAD Drafter.

CAD Draftsman Duties and Responsibilities: Contributes to development of new designs and/or sustaining engineering at all stages, from concept creation to production. Develops resolutions to design problems following fundamental engineering principles, company standard practices and procedures and related specification. This is completed by simple data analysis and testing. Work is managed by project leader or functional manager and tasks are typically outlined prior to starting an activity. Produces design models, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3-D modeling software, MS Word, EXCEL and MS Power Point. Develops a conceptual design that satisfies form, fit and function of the requirements Identifies appropriate basic tolerances and GD&T to satisfy the design requirement and manufacturing. Provides input into applicable sections of project plans and works to execute tasks to plan. Create different versions of a design to discuss the best plan for a particular product with manufacturing team. Provides status and progress reports to project team and management. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Education and Qualifications: A.A. degree or equivalent; minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some technical training required. · Must have 3-5 years of experience as a CAD drafter/designer in manufacturing field · Strong math, science and mechanical aptitude · Computer graphics/design and drafting Specialized

Knowledge and Skills: · Good manual dexterity, hand and eye coordination and ability to work and stand for long periods of time working with small intricate parts. · Able to complete tasks without mistakes and error free; detail-oriented; makes timely decisions. · Follows policies and procedures; Completes tasks correctly and on time; supports organization’s goals and values. · Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations. · Maintains confidentiality; Remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. · Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. · Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. · Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. · Ability to work in team environment as contributor · 5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Designer, working with small parts and/or CNC machines. · 5+ years’ experience designing with CAD software and 3D solids. · Working knowledge of GD&T · Possesses a strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing techniques including CNC machining · Must be able to read engineering documents · Must be able to provide input into design and development project plans, design specifications, and test procedures. · Meet scheduled plans while maintaining quality of engineering deliverables · Excellent decision making/problem solving skills · Experience with phased new product development processes from concept through full production release is a plus.
