Qualifications & Responsibilities
- Minimum of 1-3 years of personal injury litigation experience.
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Handle a volume of personal injury cases with the direction of a Senior Trial Attorney.
- Represent clients in matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury claims.
- Strong familiarity with legal research and law and motion practice.
- Take and defend depositions, including those of plaintiffs, defendants, experts, and witnesses.
- Draft and respond to motions and oppositions, including Motions for Summary Judgment/Adjudication, Demurrers, and discovery-related motions.
- Propound and respond to written discovery.
- Draft complaints ranging from basic motor vehicle accident cases to more complex premises liability and assault cases.
- Assist with settlement negotiations, mediations, and other litigation-related matters.
- Assist with trial preparation, including Motions in Limine, jury instructions, special verdict forms, and other trial-related documents.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties.
- Meet all court-imposed and internal deadlines.
- Active California Bar License and in good standing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple cases and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage a litigation caseload in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
