Overview
Salary: $175k - $300k
This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced Litigation Attorney to take full ownership of their caseload, lead a dedicated support team, and drive case strategy from inception through trial. This role is ideal for an attorney seeking autonomy, leadership responsibility, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on clients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities
Case Strategy & Litigation Management
- Develop and execute litigation strategy across a portfolio of personal injury cases
- Evaluate liability, damages, and case value to drive optimal outcomes
- Manage cases through all stages of litigation, from filing through trial
Full Litigation Lifecycle
- Draft and file pleadings, written discovery, and motions
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Prepare cases for trial, including trial strategy and witness preparation
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a dedicated support team, including paralegals and administrative staff
- Delegate effectively and ensure all case milestones are met
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Client Management
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients throughout the litigation process
- Manage expectations and provide strategic guidance
- Advocate for clients with professionalism and urgency
Negotiation & Settlement
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel
- Leverage case knowledge and litigation strategy to maximize recovery
- Identify when to settle versus proceed to trial
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all deadlines, statutes, and court requirements
- Maintain accurate case management and documentation
- Work closely with support staff to track all critical milestones
Qualifications
- Active membership in the California State Bar
- 3–5+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
- Proven experience handling cases through all stages of litigation
- Strong motion writing, deposition, and oral advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a legal support team
- Experience negotiating settlements and handling high-value cases
- Trial experience preferred
- Proficiency in case management systems (e.g., Filevine, Clio, or similar)
