Compliance Manager
 
Job Summary: The Compliance Manager is primarily responsible for implementing a compliance program.  The Compliance Manager’s job functions include, among others, developing a compliance work plan, leading investigations, and conducting auditing and monitoring and assessing compliance with policies and procedures.  The Compliance Manager is also responsible for handling HIPAA breaches and other privacy matters.  The Compliance Manager reports to the Senior Director of Compliance. 
 
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a compliance program;
  • Develop and oversee an audit program to monitor compliance, identify areas of vulnerability, and oversee corrective action plans;
  • Support/assist with Fraud Waste and Abuse program and employee/provider compliance training;
  • Ensure HIPAA privacy and security rules are followed and investigate any breaches;
  • Monitor state and federal regulatory changes that affect The company;
  • Assist with health plan audits as needed and as directed by the Senior Director of Compliance;
  • Assist the Compliance Senior Director with communications related to regulatory updates, compliance reminders and maintaining the company's policies and procedures;
  • Provide support on compliance questions and issues;
  • Participate in and help lead the Compliance Committee;
  • Assist with projects at the direction of the Senior Director of Compliance; and
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, as applicable, in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports. 
 
 
 
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory environment, HIPAA, fraud, waste and abuse rules
  • 3-7 years of experience working with compliance regulatory requirements and regulatory agencies (e.g., DHCS, DMHC, CMS)  
  • Ability to communicate with others clearly, tactfully and professionally (written/verbal)
  • Strong computer skills with a broad knowledge of software packages (MS Office Suite)
  • Able to follow directions and perform independently according to departmental standards with minimal supervision
  • Must be detail oriented and take initiative to learn new tasks
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • HCCA Certification in Healthcare Compliance
