Media Buyer/Plan Manager

The National Media Plans Manager works closely to develop media strategies for specific business lines, events, or advocacy campaigns. The person is responsible for researching, recommending, negotiating, and placing buys for traditional and non-traditional ads across all platforms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive media strategies for various business lines, ranging from retail to healthcare, to meet marketing objectives in collaboration with the WW Senior Director.
  • Develop multi-platform marketing and media schedules and campaigns that are all inclusive of but not limited to outdoor; radio; print; digital; television; grassroots; and non-traditional mediums
  • Must be able to work weekends; evenings; and Travel 80% of time
  • Create, develop, implement, and execute media plans and quarterly RO I analysis reports
  • Set and make recommendations on how to best allocate organization advertising budgets;  utilizing  media  research  tools,  internal resources  and industry/market knowledge
  • Develop and issue RFPs to local media publishers; gather and analyze proposals to determine media se lections, negotiate rates & positioning as required
  • Develop final media plan recommendation and present the recommendation to WW Senior Director and appropriate heads of divisions; Update & maintain media and media costs flowcharts as well as rotation charts for each publication we work with (weekly task)
  • Create print and digital strategy for new expansion markets domestically and others as needed, including to and for possible global sites
  • Coordinate with internal teams the production of creative, reserve space for all ads with reps, and submit all artwork by the designated deadlines
  • Research, present and negotiate rates and positioning for print, digital , and cable media placements and additional as assigned; create post-campaign analysis and recommendations for future projects
  • Supervise and manage media intern(s) and ensure intern completes required Intern Worksheet at least 2 weeks prior to their final departure date
  • Oversee and monitor ongoing campaign performance, ensuring campaigns are executed properly and according to expectations
  • Develop strategic post-campaign analysis and provide recommendations for future initiatives
  • Integrate digital and social marketing elements into media strategy
  • Research, identify and present emerging trends in media buying
  • Establish, manage and maintain productive relationships internally and externally to maximize Brand Objectives
  • Meet with new reps and look for new partnerships or promotions to include in the mix; participate in market rides to scout and review billboard , outdoor and other advertising and marketing signage locations and opportunities
  • Research, identify and  present emerging  trends in media  buying
  • Responsible for local market research, development, and execution of localized campaigns and messaging; monthly recon of how local campaigns are performing
  • develop and execute localized media plans and messaging for all Markets and expansion territories nationally
  • Create, generate, and submit bi-weekly local market media reports and recaps;
  • all support as requested by Senior Director
  • Reconcile all media invoices on a monthly basis
  • Provide Annual Budget recommendations for reallocations of spend to maximize cost, ROI and efficiency

Participation in Meetings/Committees:

Attends departmental or interdepartmental meetings as required.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer/Software Skills and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, and individual should have basic knowledge of Content Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, patients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as disco unts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning  Ability:

High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities/Qualifications:

Must have knowledge of Excel, Web Content Management software Strong attention to details and deadlines.
Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time.

Valid California driver's license with proof of liability insurance.
