Job Description
The purpose of this position is to apply basic design engineering principles as listed. This role has the responsibility to promote competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects and evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a small set of routine assignments. 
• Employ cost competitive engineering techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work 
• Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution 
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting 
• Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures 
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines 
• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines 
• Other duties as assigned 

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements 
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors 
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job 
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines 
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner 

Other Job Requirements
• Demonstrate contractual requirements compliance in an effective and efficient manner, with use of systems engineering processes. 
• Support the PLTC team and its subcontractors with the identification, analyzes, monitoring and demonstration of the contract requirements. 
• Liaising with all personnel within the PLTO and the PLTC who are involved with the requirements management process, e.g. 
o System safety and security team for the safety certification process; 
o Design teams for requirements identification, analysis and verification; 
o Construction teams for requirements analysis, verification and validation; 
o The PLTO team to make sure O&M related requirements are incorporated into the design in accordance with the Technical Provisions; 
o Quality department on both QA and QC processes related to requirements verification and validation throughout all project phases. 
• Administrator of the requirements management (software) tool. 
• Analyze and monitor quality of the data in the requirements management tool. 
• Provide training and workshops related to the use of the requirement management tool. 
• Draft and provide progress reports on the processes above. 
• Provide support for the change management process 

Preferred Qualifications
• Engineer-in-Training achievement status accomplished 
• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials 
• Practical field experience 
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
