Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ human resource experience with at least 2 years’ experience as HR Manager (Los Angeles Area)
  • Law Firm Experience is highly desired.
  • HR certification or PHR strongly desired.
  • Must have Strong Academic Background.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manages the day to day operations of the benefits and human resources staff.
2. Confers and coordinates with the local offices on employee relations matters, including performance development and improvement, counseling and discipline matters
3. Implements and updates the Firm’s compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
4. Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
5. Ensures compliance with local, federal and state employment laws and filing requirements, such as the EEO-1, FLSA, FLMA, CFRA, EEO laws, and various other employment laws.  Serves as Firm expert for leave of absence issues and develops others in HR to assist in this effort
6. Coordinates with the local offices on recruitment efforts, to promote greater consistency in recruiting and hiring procedures and in content of offer letters.
7. Coordinates the HR team’s input into selection of its new technology system (HR Information System), plays major role in implementing that system and other HR technology systems, and in operating them from the HR side, coordinating with the Firm’s IT team.
8. Coordinates with the Payroll Supervisor as necessary. 
9. Develops and evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
10. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
